The Alden 87150 V-Tip Blucher in black shell cordovan is not a catalog model. It is a special make-up, produced once, in a single limited run. We have been working to bring this specific combination of pattern, material, and last to our clients since 2024. It is now here, and when this run sells through, it will not be repeated.
The upper is black shell cordovan, one of the most difficult materials to source in all of footwear. Shell cordovan is not calfskin. It is a dense, single-membrane material taken from a specific part of the horsehide that does not crease. It rolls. Over time, it develops a deep, almost liquid lustre that cannot be replicated by any other leather. Every pair ages differently. Every pair becomes yours.
The Algonquin V-tip pattern is one of the oldest details in American shoemaking. The apron stitching creates that clean V shape across the toe, a construction detail that was built for longevity and has since become one of Alden's most recognizable signatures. You will not find this Alden V-Tip Blucher in black shell cordovan in many places. Most retailers never see it.
