A varsity cardigan with the stiffness taken out. Dehen's Classic Cardigan is the structured one, and this is the looser version: a slightly cropped body, an off-shoulder fit, and open cuffs and hem, so it hangs easily over a tee, a collared shirt or a roll neck.

It's 100% worsted wool in an extra-heavy four-end jersey knit, dark navy with two burnt orange stripes on one sleeve. The stripe comes from Dehen's award sweaters. The company has been knitting them for athletes in Portland since 1920, and this version keeps that look in a looser shape.

Dehen cuts it true to size, with a short, loose body. Take the size you normally wear in a sweater.

Wear it open over a white tee with jeans, or buttoned up over a shirt. Four buttons, two front pockets.

These are the maker's own garment measurements, taken flat. Chest is measured pit to pit and doubled. The body is cut short and loose, so take your usual sweater size.
