A blue and white Bengal stripe is the shirt to reach for once the plain white and pale blue ones are already in rotation. This one is cotton poplin with even stripes running the full length of the body, and Drake's makes it in its own factory in Somerset, England. The poplin is lightweight, with a soft hand and a lustrous sheen.
The collar is a button-down with a brushed, floating interlining, so it sits soft and rolls a little instead of standing stiff. The stripes angle together in a V on the back yoke and run across the cuffs. There is a chest pocket with a pointed base, a box pleat at the back, and single rounded cuffs that close with one button. Under a navy blazer it works without a tie. Open at the neck with the sleeves rolled, it carries chinos or denim just as well. With stripes this clear, keep the rest plain: a navy knit tie, a grey or brown jacket.
Available in Canada at Mr. Derk in Edmonton, in store and online.
This is the size chart for this shirt, in collar sizes 14.5 to 18. These are Drake's own garment measurements for this style. Pit to pit is measured straight across the chest, so double it for the full circumference. Sleeve is Drake's overarm sleeve length, taken over the arm to the cuff. Length runs from the base of the collar to the hem.
