Brown 19613 Turtleneck Sweater

A turtleneck is the quickest way to dress up without a tie, and this one keeps it quiet. The colour is a soft brown with oatmeal in it. Under a navy or charcoal sport coat it fills the gap a shirt and tie would. On its own it goes with cords, flannels or dark denim.

The collar, cuffs and hem are ribbed. The family behind it has been knitting in Abruzzo since 1952, and the whole piece is made in Italy.

Order the chest size you wear in a sport coat, and if you sit between sizes take the larger. The tag inside carries the Italian number, so a 42 from us is marked 52.

If your knits so far are navy and grey, this is the one that adds some warmth. It sits next to brown suede, an olive jacket or a grey flannel trouser without competing with any of them.
