Most T-shirts are disposable. The yarn is gassed over a flame to burn away surface fuzz, then mercerised, which leaves a quiet lustre and a cool, dry hand that ordinary jersey cannot touch.
That finish is the point. This tee reads dressed, not casual. Wear it under a sport coat where a dress shirt feels like too much, or on its own with tailored trousers in July. The black holds its depth wash after wash, because mercerised fibre takes dye deeper than untreated cotton.
