100% Ecology Wool. Ecology Wool is undyed pure new wool from British breed sheep, spun in the UK so the colour comes off the sheep, not the dye bath. Harley knits it seamlessly in Peterhead with no yarn waste, which keeps the character of the raw fleece in the finished jumper. The hand is springy and lofted rather than tightly compact, with the natural crimp of the fibre giving warmth without weight. Saddle shoulder construction, knit in at the shoulder line rather than raglan or set-in, gives the shoulder a rounded softer read and lets the sweater sit clean over a shirt or on its own.

The Herdwick colour is undyed fleece straight off a Cumbrian hill sheep. A steel-grey base with cream and mid-brown fibres spun through it, so the yarn reads as a warm heather charcoal from a distance and breaks into flecks of oat, cocoa and slate up close. It works with denim, cord, grey flannel and any brown or olive tailoring.
