There are only two loopwheeling mills left in the world that still knit T-shirts the old way. This one is in Albstadt, Germany, where they've been doing it since 1911. You can feel it the moment you put it on.
The 215 is the midweight benchmark, the one most guys mean when they say "the best plain tee I own." 7.2 oz of GOTS-certified organic cotton, knit in a single seamless tube with no side seams and a triangle gusset under the arm. The machines run slow, about a metre every 90 minutes, and the zero-tension knit is what gives the 215 its slightly irregular outer texture and its soft inner hand. PRIMA QUALITY 2-thread, 245 gsm.
Sizing runs small. If you're a medium elsewhere, you want a size 6 (LG) here. Not pre-shrunk either, so expect about 3/4" (2 cm) off the length after the first cold wash. Worth knowing going in.
Our default answer when someone asks us for the best white tee. This quietly replaces every three-pack tee in your drawer. Heavier than an undershirt, soft enough to wear on its own, and it actually gets better with age.
