Description

Most corduroy is flat and even. This isn't. The Donegal effect, the mill's own printing process, gives the cloth a speckled look, the way a Donegal tweed does with the flecks spun through it, only here it runs down a wide wale cord. Night Sky is a deep navy that reads close to black across a room, with pale flecks that show up once you're close or the light catches it.

The cord comes from an Italian mill that has woven only corduroy and velvet since the late 1800s and still runs a stream through the property to wash the cotton. Peter Middleton started Wythe in 2019 with a background in fabric research, and this exclusive fabric is that work in practice: the brand went through the mill's archive to build a cord to sit beside its Donegal tweeds. They wear like jeans and dress up better.

The leg is straight with a slight taper below the knee, so it sits clean over a boot without turning skinny. Take your usual waist. Cotton corduroy shrinks, so wash cold, hang dry and expect a little movement after the first wash. The inseam is 32 to 32.5 inches off the rack, depending on size. Want a shorter break? Bring them in and we'll hem them.

If you only buy one pair of cords this fall, make it these.
