Description

Every proper Barbour customer eventually ends up with the two-piece system. Waxed shell over top, quilted liner underneath, both pieces zipped into each other for the days that go from mild morning to sharp evening in the span of one dog walk. This is the liner half of that system, sized to zip cleanly into a Bedale or a Beaufort but sturdy enough to wear on its own.

The Icons range is Barbour's re-engineered take on their heritage silhouettes, cut a little cleaner and built with recycled fabrics that hold the same shape and warmth as the originals. Soft box-quilted outer with lightweight wadding, tartan lining behind the zip, two patch pockets set at the hip, subtle Barbour embroidery on the chest.

Tan is the version that quietly does the most work. It reads more brown than beige in person, warmer than a classic olive, and it flatters a wax jacket without disappearing into it. Wear it over an oxford and cords for a country pub Sunday, or under an olive Beaufort with selvedge denim and a knit for the November school run.

Quilted liners run warm to about plus five Celsius on their own with a knit, and comfortably below zero once they're zipped inside the wax jacket. The two-piece system is why Barbour customers stop shopping for other outerwear.
