A high-rise trouser with a single pleat and a straight, easy leg. The rise is the point: it sits at your natural waist the way trousers did before denim taught everyone to wear their pants on their hips, and it is more comfortable at a dinner table than anything low-slung will ever be.
The cloth is a Super 130's merino twill from mulesing-free wool, in vert-de-gris, the grey-green of weathered copper. It drapes clean, recovers from a day of sitting, and reads dressier than the relaxed cut actually is.
The size number roughly matches your waist plus sixteen: a 48 fits a 32 inch waist, a 50 fits a 34. Check the chart rather than guessing from your usual European size.
Made by Le Textile in Bagnolet, on the eastern edge of Paris, whose name is on the label. Cut from the same cloth as the Writer's Jacket: together they make a broken suit, and on their own they are the wool trouser your rotation is probably missing.
