An unstructured single-breasted jacket with no lining and no shoulder padding, so it wears closer to a fine cardigan than a sport coat. You put it on in October and forget you are wearing it until you take it off.
The cloth is a Super 130's merino twill from mulesing-free wool, with the drape and recovery you would expect from suiting at twice the price. The colour is vert-de-gris, the soft grey-green of weathered copper, and it is far easier to wear than it sounds. Treat it as a green that behaves like a grey.
The fit is slightly oversized by design. Sizing runs about two sizes larger than the European number suggests, so go by the chest size in the chart, not your usual number.
Made by Atelier Lys Couture in Pantin, France, whose name is on the label. Cut from the same cloth as the One Pleat Trousers: worn together they make a broken suit you can wear to dinner, and both halves earn their keep alone.
