Handmade in Italy on a cushioned white rubber sole, this is the sneaker for the guy who wants a real leather shoe he can wear-and-go. The laces look like laces, but they are decorative. Soft cord threaded loose so the foot pushes in and out without touching them. Airport-friendly, door-to-car easy, and still clean enough to read dressy under trousers or over jeans.
Comfort is baked in from the first wear. The soft grain calf upper breaks in from day one with no stiff heel bite, a padded perforated collar cushions the ankle (visible in the interior shot), and a round toe box keeps the pinky toe out of trouble. Underfoot, the cushioned white rubber sole absorbs impact on hard floors, and a removable memory-foam footbed with an antibacterial finish sits inside. Handmade in Monte Urano, in the Marche region of Italy, by a family that has been building shoes there since 1992. Lasted around the foot, not pressed out of a mass-market shell.
TDM is Testa di Moro, a dark chocolate brown that reads almost black in low light and warms up under the sun. It is the answer for the man who wants a leather sneaker that reads dressed enough for a Friday dinner but still moves easily with raw denim, taupe or olive chinos, or a sand-coloured cotton trouser. The white sole keeps it modern. The dark upper keeps it grown.
