Runs true to size. Chromexcel softens over the first week of wear, so a snug initial fit is the right initial fit.

The Baslow is made in whole sizes only, no half sizes. If you sit between sizes, size down.

US 9 in a Common Projects, Alden Barrie last, or Crockett & Jones 325 last translates directly. If you are in Edmonton, come get sized in the shop. If you are online, we will swap sizes freely on unworn pairs.

Cut on a single last, regular width. There is no wide fitting available on this style.

Upper: Horween Chromexcel Dark Brown, tanned in Chicago. Hot-stuffed with beeswax and cod oil, full-grain, 2.0 to 2.2mm.

Lining: full-grain calf leather, 1.2 to 1.4mm.

Sole: TPU, Blake-stitched to the upper.

Insole: EVA foam with a leather top cover, leather heel counter and lasting board.

Chromexcel wants oil, not wax. Wipe down with a horsehair brush after wear. Every couple of months feed the leather with a light coat of Venetian shoe cream or Saphir Renovateur. Skip hard wax polish, it fights the finish.

Cedar trees when they are resting. Rotate pairs, 24 hours off between wears keeps the leather from breaking down at the flex point.

Blake stitch resoles at any competent cobbler. Bring the pair to us and we will send them back to Sheffield for a full rebuild.
