De Bonne Facture

Navy Driver's Jacket Water Repellent Wool

$1,119.00 CAD

Description

A driving jacket in the old sense: short enough to sit down in, clean enough to wear over tailoring, with a zip hidden behind a buttoned placket so nothing catches or flashes. A collar tab and waist detail finish it without turning it fussy.

The cloth is a dense wool and cotton weave, 82% wool and 18% cotton, finished to be water repellent. Not a rain shell, but exactly what you want for wet pavement, freezing drizzle, and the eight months Edmonton calls jacket season. Navy, because a jacket like this should go with everything you already own.

Sizing runs about two sizes larger than the European number suggests, so go by the chest size in the chart, not your usual number. There is room to layer a knit underneath at your true chest size.

Made by Atelier Lys Couture in Pantin, France, whose name is on the label. The same cloth turns up in the Balloon Trousers if you want the full look.
