A French hunting jacket, redrawn for the city. Raglan sleeves, a corduroy collar, flap pockets at the front and slanting at the hips, and side slits closed with buttons. It is cut comfortable and slightly oversized and it is fully lined, so it goes over a knit without a fuss.
The cloth is Harris Tweed, 100% wool, woven in the UK from mulesing-free wool and finished water repellent. It is a dark brown check with flecks of navy, plum, green and rust running through it: at arm's length a warm dark brown, up close a proper multicolour houndstooth.
It is cut generously: take your usual size for the intended oversized look, or size down one for a closer fit. There is room to layer a knit underneath at your true chest size.
Made by the Atelier of Mr Erbas in Pantin, France, whose name is on the label.
