A single pleat, a straight leg and a structured line from the waist down. The cloth is an English wool flannel in olive puppytooth, which is houndstooth at a smaller scale. From across a room it reads as a warm olive-brown. Up close you see the check.
The flannel is 100% wool, woven in the UK from mulesing-free wool. It is a trouser you can wear with a knit and boots on a weekday and with a jacket when the day calls for one.
The cut is straight. The size number roughly matches your waist plus sixteen: a 48 fits a 32 inch waist, a 50 fits a 34. Check the chart rather than guessing from your usual European size.
Made by Atelier Le Textile in Bagnolet, just outside Paris. Cut from the same cloth as the Traveler Jacket: worn together they make a broken suit, and each half earns its keep on its own.
