This is Dehen's version of the Navy N-1 deck jacket from the Second World War, done all in black. The canvas is black, the mouton collar and the lining are black, and the buttons are black too. It's the plain, low-key N-1, and it sits over a hoodie, a flannel shirt or a roll neck as easily as it does over a sweater.
The shell is 10.10 oz waxed canvas, and the wax gives it a mottled, broken-in surface from day one. The cuffs are 100% worsted wool, knit at Dehen's own factory in Portland on 1940s machines, which is printed right on the label sewn inside the collar. Six buttons close the front over a hidden brass zipper.
It fits slim through the body because of the mouton lining. If you're between sizes, go up.
It's a warm, substantial jacket, and sizing is easiest in person. Come try one on, we're open seven days a week.

These are the maker's own garment measurements, taken flat. Chest is measured pit to pit and doubled. The jacket fits slim because of the mouton lining. If you measure between sizes, go up. Dehen's sizes run S, M, L, XL, XXL, which are our SM, MM, LG, XL, 2XL in the same order. Dehen publishes no measurements for a 3XL, so call 780-431-4293 if you need that size.
